Virtual Event

Please join Dr. Josef Görres, Associate Professor, Plant and Soil Science Department, University of Vermont for an update on the impact and management of jumping worms.

Gardeners are excellent observers. They are also frequently at the forefront fielding questions about jumping worms. This talk will present basic information about jumping worms and an update on how they might be managed.

Jumping worms are becoming more widespread in northeastern North America, with reports now coming for the first time from the Canadian Provinces of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Reports from the New England states have also been

frequent in the past years. In this class, Dr. Görres will present the latest research about their distribution, their impacts, and the methods of managing their populations.
