Five LEC Field Hockey Players Named All-Region by NFHCA

A total of five Little East Conference (LEC) field hockey players have been named to the 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region II Team, it was announced by the organization Tuesday.
Each of the league’s selections garnered 2022 LEC First Team All-Conference honors. In order to be named to the all-region, the program’s head coach must be a dues-paying member of the NFHCA.
 
Fitchburg State forward Lena Kassel and Plymouth State forward Taylor Healey were named First Team NFHCA All-Region selections. Kassel, the 2022 LEC Rookie of the Year is second was second in the LEC in scoring with 31 goals and 67 total points. Healey finished third in the LEC with 26 goals and 60 total points.
2022 LEC regular season champion Southern Maine had a pair of Second Team All-Region selections in back Jordan Cummings and forward Sage Drinkwater. Cummings was named the 2022 LEC Defensive Player of the Year after leading a defense that allowed 2.04 goals per game while totaling eight defensive saves. Drinkwater was fifth in the league in goals (15) and seventh in total points (35). Worcester State back Emily Saucier was also named a Second Team All-Region pick after leading a defensive unit that allowed a league-best 1.71 goals per game.
