Governor McKee has announced the confirmation of Steven Boudreau to the Board of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts by the Rhode Island Senate. This appointment follows the departure of Suzanne Augenstein and Kara Milner from their roles on the Council.

“On behalf of Rhode Island, thank you to Suzanne and Kara for their tenure serving the arts community. I am pleased to welcome Steven to the Council,” said Governor McKee. He emphasized the importance of commitment to the state’s volunteer arts board for both economic and social well-being.

Lawrence Purtill, Chair of RISCA, expressed gratitude for Boudreau’s confirmation: “The Council is grateful to the Governor and the R.I. Senate for confirming this key addition to the state’s arts council. I want to reiterate my appreciation to Kara and Suzanne for their service to this state’s key community.” Purtill highlighted Boudreau’s expertise in arts and health as a valuable asset.

Boudreau is currently Director of Equity and Engagement at the Rhode Island Office of Healthy Aging. His past roles include Chief Administrative Officer at RIDOH, where he managed workforce development programs. He has also been involved with several arts organizations and initiatives, including co-founding the Rhode Island Arts and Health Network.

His work has contributed significantly to integrating arts into healthcare settings, as seen in projects like the R.I. Public Health Artist in Residence Program.
