An inmate at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls, Rhode Island, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on multiple drug trafficking charges. The indictment was announced by Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom.

Brian Slutzkin, also known as Lello Brian Bongiorno, age 41, faces charges of possessing contraband in prison and possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute. According to court documents, authorities allege that during a search of Slutzkin, they found a sock hidden on his person containing seven balloons made from latex gloves. The balloons reportedly held distributable quantities of fentanyl powder, pills containing oxycodone hydrochloride and acetaminophen, strips containing buprenorphine and naloxone, and marijuana.

“A federal criminal indictment is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty,” the announcement stated.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ronald R. Gendron. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation along with investigators at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility.
