Sophomore standout Octavio Brito was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, on Tuesday morning.

Brito is the reigning LEC Player of the Week after averaging 34.5 points and making 13-of-22 three pointers in the Owls’ two wins last week.  Against Albertus Magnus, he equaled what was his career high with 32 points, shooting 11-of-20 from the field and 7-of-12 from three point range.   He then exploded for a career high 37 points against Southern Maine, making 12-of-19 shots from the field and 6-of-10 three point attempts, as well as all seven of his free throws.

For the season, he is averaging 24.5 points, six rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.3 steals per game, shooting 52.6% from the floor,  50% from three point range, and 71.4% from the free throw line.   Brito is currently 11th nationally in scoring, and fifth in fifth in total points and three pointers made.  He’s been named LEC Player of the Week twice this season, and becomes the third player in program history to be named to the Team of the Week.    Teammate Jeff Hunter received the award earlier this season, as did KSC’s all-time leading scorer, Ty Nichols in 2018-19.

Keene State, currently ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division III, entertains in-state rival Plymouth State University at 7:30 p.m. on December 7.   A win would give KSC the best start in school history.
