Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced that a Massachusetts man has been charged in Providence County Superior Court with multiple offenses including possession of a ghost gun after his arrest by the Rhode Island State Police (RISP) on August 25, 2022.

On April 20, 2023, the Office of the Attorney General charged Gentrit Millanaj (age 20), of Medford Mass., by way of criminal information, with one count of possession of a ghost gun, one count of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, one count of carrying a pistol without a license, one count of possession of a firearm while delivering a controlled substance, and one count of possession of 10g or less of cocaine.

As alleged in the criminal information, at approximately 2:00 a.m. on August 25, 2022, a trooper observed a vehicle speeding on Route 295 North in Cumberland and pulled the vehicle over. The trooper detected a strong scent of marijuana and observed several pieces of marijuana paraphernalia before asking the defendant to exit the vehicle.

As alleged, the trooper searched the vehicle and seized several items including a Patmos Arms 9mm semi-automatic pistol ghost gun, marijuana, and six small bags of crack cocaine.

As alleged in the criminal information, the State Forensic Chemistry Lab confirmed the presence of marijuana and cocaine in the drugs seized from the defendant’s car.

The defendant is scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference on June 16, 2023 in Providence County Superior Court.
