Rhode Island State Police report arrests for drug possession and vandalism

On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the Rhode Island State Police made two separate arrests. At 3:07 PM, Maria Diaz, aged 56 from Providence, was taken into custody. She faces charges related to possession of a controlled substance and shoplifting. The arrest followed an investigation by Trooper Fanous and a vehicle stop on Valley Street in Providence. Diaz was held at the Scituate Barracks and awaited arraignment at the Sixth Division District Court.

Later that day, at 4:20 PM, Corey Flynn, aged 20 from Warwick, was arrested for domestic vandalism involving damage to private property. This arrest occurred after troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 295 South in Johnston. Flynn was processed at the Scituate Barracks before being handed over to the Warwick Police Department.
