RIC’s Cosgrove Named Finalist for WBCA DIII National Coach of the Year

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jenna Cosgrove was named a finalist for the 2023 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) National Division III Coach of the Year award.
 
Cosgrove and 12 other coaches were named finalists, with Smith College Head Coach Lynn Hersey winning the award.
 
Cosgrove led RIC to a program-best 28-4 overall record, reaching the National Semifinals of the 2023 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship for the first time in program history.
 
RIC won its third straight Little East Regular Season and Tournament Championships, and knocked off three top-15 programs in the NCAA Championship before falling to No. 1-ranked Christopher Newport, 56-51, at the Final Four on March 18.
