How it Happened
Q1: Simmonds won the opening draw control and got Bryant on the board immediately, taking the ball down the field and scoring herself with just 16 seconds off the clock. Margaret Adams added another just two minutes later, before LIU's Lluna Katz scored the first of her seven goals on the day. Simmonds netted two more before the end of the period to help extend the lead to three after 15 minutes of play.
Q2: Chamberlaine Bell scored less than a minute into the second, but the Sharks responded with a 3-0 run over the following eight minutes to cut the lead to 7-6. The Bulldogs hit back with a 3-0 run of their own to close the half, with Simmonds netting her fourth goal just before the break to make it a 10-6 lead.
Q3: Kaut's second goal of the afternoon kicked off a high scoring third, one that saw ten goals between the two teams. Bryant and LIU traded goals through the quarter, with neither scoring more than two in a row. Kaut led the offensive for Bryant, scoring four of the Bulldogs' five goals, including the final one to put them up four heading into the fourth.
Q4: Bryant managed to pull away in the final quarter, scoring five of the final seven goals to close out the game. Emily Oliver, Emily DeGeorge, and Amelia Piercy each hit the back of the net in the fourth, giving the Bulldogs eight different goal scorers in the game.
