A pair of Little East Conference (LEC) men’s lacrosse standouts have been named USA Lacrosse Magazine’s 2023 Division III Men’s Preseason All-American Team, both as honorable mentions.

UMass Boston senior short stick midfielder Luke Murphy totaled 16 goals, 13 assists, 48 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers while helping lead the Beacons to the 2022 LEC regular season and tournament championships. He was named a First Team All-LEC selection last season on his way to being named an All-American by the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)

Western Connecticut State University senior midfielder Benjamin Hawthorne led the LEC last season with 57 assists and 103 total points, and was sixth in the conference in goals with 46. He was the only player to eclipse 100 points in the LEC last season, and earned Second-Team All-LEC honors at attack while leading the Wolves to a 14-4 overall record and berth in the LEC semifinals.
