Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College freshman second baseman Lucas McElroy (Westport, Mass.) was named the Little East Baseball Rookie of the Week for his performance in a 4-1 week for the Anchormen. It is the second time this season that McElroy has received this award.
He played in four games, starting all of them. 

McElroy batted .385 (5-for-13) with eight runs scored, five hits, three doubles, one home run and three RBI. McElroy scored two runs, stole a base and notched an RBI in the club’s, 11-2, win over MIT on March 20. He went a combined 5-for-8 with five runs scored, three doubles, one home run and three RBI as RIC swept a doubleheader from Southern Maine (10-1; 10-1) on March 26.
For the season, he has played in 16 games, starting all of them. McElroy is batting .388 (26-for-67) with 18 runs scored, 26 hits, eight doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI and five stolen bases. 

He owns a .597 slugging percentage, a .446 on-base percentage and a .932 fielding percentage.
Head Coach Frank Holbrook’s team is currently 11-6 overall and 2-0 in the Little East.
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, March 28 (3:30 p.m.)
