Providence, R.I.—Senior pitcher Shaun Gamelin (West Kingston, R.I.) struck out 16 and allowed just one hit in seven innings of work to lead Rhode Island College past Southern Maine, 10-1, in the Little East opener for both clubs at Pontarelli Field on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC built a 2-0 lead after the first three innings, highlighted by a junior third baseman Cal Parrillo (Greenville, R.I.) RBI single.
• The Huskies scored their only run of the day on junior designated hitter Cam Seymour's (Saco, Maine) solo homer in the fourth.
• The hosts scored the game's final eight runs, with junior shortstop Izaiah Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.) notching an RBI single in the fourth and knocking in a pair with a double in the fifth.
• Sophomore reliever Liam Dailey (Franklin, Mass.) hurled two scoreless innings to close out the win for the Anchormen.
• Parrillo went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, while junior designated hitter Cole Podedworny (Wakefield, R.I.) went 1-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Rivera went 3-for-4 with three RBI.
