The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) has released the final version of the request for proposal (RFP) for the Washington Bridge Replacement Project. This document is available as an addendum on the procurement webpage dedicated to the RFP.
The initial RFP, issued in December, required companies and RIDOT to submit comments and questions about its provisions. The goal was to collaboratively clarify terms and conditions for the companies' responses. RIDOT engaged with each company to discuss their feedback. The final RFP includes changes primarily focused on clearer language and a better definition of responsibilities in the agreements.
This release aligns with the previously announced procurement schedule, ensuring that RIDOT and competing design-build teams remain on track. The review of technical proposals is expected to be completed by June 6, when the state will define the project's final cost, schedule, and scope.
